Philips is deepening its longstanding partnership with Medtronic through a new multi-year agreement focused on expanding access to advanced patient monitoring technologies and delivering high-quality care. Building on a collaboration that began in 1992, this next phase reflects both companies’ shared commitment to providing comprehensive and validated monitoring solutions that support better patient outcomes.
At the core of this enhanced partnership is a commitment to integrate proven, next-generation monitoring technologies and consumables into a streamlined offering for healthcare providers. Philips' patient monitoring systems currently incorporate Medtronic's leading brands, including Nellcor™ pulse oximetry, Microstream™ capnography, and BIS™ brain monitoring for conscious level assessment. Under the new agreement, Philips will also bundle essential supplies, including ECG, NIBP, and batteries, with Philips Medtronic-enabled monitors. This approach is designed to streamline procurement and provide a validated solution that minimizes the complexity of managing multiple contracts within the same monitoring category. The partnership will initially focus on the North American market with plans to expand globally.
Both companies are reinforcing their dedication to patient safety through a new pledge program. As part of this initiative, Philips will ensure that all technologies integrated through the partnership are clinically validated, cybersecure, and ready for frontline clinical use.
This gives clinicians confidence that the monitoring tools they rely on are high-performing and meet rigorous quality standards, allowing them to focus on delivering care rather than navigating compatibility issues.
This approach provides healthcare professionals with flexible technology solutions to meet their evolving needs. With a shared commitment to safety and performance, the two companies are uniquely positioned to offer clinicians greater flexibility in choosing trusted technologies that are fully validated across both Philips and Medtronic systems.
“Philips is passionate about equipping clinicians with the tools they need to provide better care to more patients,” said Sachin Chaudhari, General Manager of Clinical Applications and Devices for Hospital Patient Monitoring at Philips. “Through our partnership with Medtronic, we’re providing a comprehensive monitoring solution that is validated throughout all stages, giving clinicians access to the reliable, high-quality products they need to do their jobs.”
