Struggling to get a good night’s sleep can be frustrating and can leave you feeling less than your best.

The answer may lie in changing your sleep position.

If you've already been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and are struggling with traditional therapy, talk to your doctor. He or she may recommend a sleep study to find out if you have a type of OSA called positional OSA.

With positional OSA, most symptoms, like interrupted breathing, occur when you sleep on your back. Now, there is a mask-free treatment that uses gentle vibrations, prompting you to shift to your side so you can get the rest you need.

When you sleep on your back

When you sleep on your back, your airway may be blocked, which can disrupt breathing.

When you sleep on your side

When you sleep on your side, your airway is clear, which allows for easy breathing.

We’re on your side with a mask-free sleep apnea therapy

NightBalance is a compact, easy-to-use, mask-free treatment for positional OSA. The palm-sized device is worn comfortably across your chest in a soft, adjustable strap.

NightBalance delivers gentle vibrations that prompt you to shift to your side without disturbing your sleep. It automatically adjusts the intensity of vibrations to provide the therapy you need.

    NightBalance is:

    • reported to be more comfortable to wear than CPAP1
    • easy to adjust to thanks to an adaptation program
    • designed to go anywhere with a convenient travel case
    • mobile friendly with an easy-to-use app that tracks your progress
    • discreet to wear

Positional OSA is more common than you might realize

Positional OSA is different than OSA. With positional OSA, most symptoms, like interrupted breathing, occur when you sleep on your back.

    • Positional OSA occurs in nearly half of all people with OSA.3
    • If you have positional OSA, sleeping on your side can help.
    • Positional OSA can be diagnosed with a sleep study.

If your sleep study reveals you have positional OSA, talk to your doctor about NightBalance.

    Adjust to your therapy

NightBalance uses an Adaptation Program to let you gradually adjust to POSA therapy.

For the first 2 nights, the device monitors your sleeping behavior with no therapy.

During nights 3-9, vibrations are gradually introduced over time to allow you to acclimate to the new POSA therapy.

On day 10 and forward, full treatment is delivered when therapy is needed – reducing the time spent sleeping on your back.5

    What is the adaptation program?

The adaptation program of NightBalance is designed to slowly train you to respond to the Sensor Device’s vibrations during sleep. You need to use NightBalance for nine nights before the device will provide full position therapy.

    1) Analysis phase

No vibrations are given during the first two nights of the therapy. NightBalance gathers baseline data on your sleep patterns during night 1 and 2. This data is used to tailor the therapy to your individual sleeping behavior later on.

    2) Build-up phase

NightBalance starts to deliver vibrations during night 3 to 9. The vibrations will build up gradually when laying on your back, allowing you to get used to therapy. It is recommended to use NightBalance every night, or as agreed with your physician for best therapy results.
