Podcast: Philips CEO talks innovation and sustainability in healthcare

Estimated reading time: 1-3 minutes

Philips CEO Frans van Houten recently joined the new A Healthier Future podcast series to discuss his vision for the future of healthcare and how Philips approaches innovation.

“If you come up with a great innovation [at Philips], it needs to qualify on the Quadruple Aim of healthcare,” he said. “That’s the filter on which we judge innovation.”

The Quadruple Aim refers to the objective in healthcare of delivering better health outcomes, improved patient and staff experience and lower cost of care.

During the conversation, van Houten discusses Philips’ transformation into a focused health technology company, his approach to leadership and why he believes companies should prioritize doing business responsibly and sustainably.

Marc Harrison, president and CEO of Intermountain Healthcare, based in the USA, hosts the podcast series, which focuses on conversations with innovative leaders on how to improve healthcare.
