The Philips dynamic contrast enhancer uses video processing and unique dimming backlight technology. This delivers deep rich black levels with increased detail. The dimming backlight increases the contrast up to 5 times*, and at the same time improves the viewing angle. It gives a bright, lifelike picture with high contrast and vibrant colors, (* factor between 2 and 5, screen type and picture content dependant).

i have a 2007 model and it still functions like new after 19 years /// it produces a very natural picture with almost a 3D quality from any viewing angle with natural motion ... the speakers are of better quality than most other tvs with a more durable construction

Longest Lasting TV I e ever had.
Never had any problems with it. Probably the best purchase for a TV I ever made.
