Philips NorelcoShaver 2300 S1570/82 Dry electric shaver, Series 2000

I received a Norelco electric shaver 18 years ago from my mother, it was my father's. My mother gave me his electic shaver after he passed away. I don't know how long he had it before me but it just resently stopped working. I only looked at Norelco electric shavers and choose the one that most resembled the old one. I have been using the Norelco Shaver 2300 for a week now and like the way it shaves.

I currently own and use a similar Phillips product which is still functioning well. I purchased this, charged it, checked that it works, ran out the charge and am storing it as back up for the day my current shaver "dies"....so it will not be used until ???????? I received my first Phillips Norelco shaver as a gift while still in college...about 1955...and I believe I still have it AND it does work last I used it on a trip.

I have had at least one previous Norelco shavers and am disappointed that this one does not allow me to use the shaver with a cord if the battery is dead. The website is the most difficult one I have used to register a product. It is confusing and takes way too many steps.

I have been a user of these shavers since at least 1973, when they had only two heads and could not be wet. The current model has serious shortcomings. It did not come with a brush and the manual does not mention brushing after every use. Rather it requires that one wash the shaver every time, taking up much more time, not counting the time to dry. It provides no warning of battery run down, stopping abruptly in mid-shave. And the manual specifically requires not using it while it is charging, so one is supposed to sit around and wait while it charges.
