Philips Norelco Shaver 8800Wet & dry electric shaver, Series 8000

The product pictured is what I have, 1290X, including the head as shown. But if I try to buy a replacement head I'm shown a completely different one, specced for the 9000 series/Arcitec. How do I get the same replacement head that came with the razor? Or alternatively how do I get a new set of cutters to go in it? I disassembled the head as far as I can figure out but the protective outer parts that the cutter fits into apparently cannot be removed from the head. Thanks.

Very sleek and easy to use. Very comfortable shaving with it. Recently switched from razor and glad I did. Be careful not to bang it around or tap it while cleaning because it will come apart ( heads ) and you will be chasing your tail trying to put the puzzle back together again!!

Razor is awesome!!! Runs, Cuts well. Would Recommend!!! Cleaning is easy. Runs Quite, what more can you ask for.

Very good shaver,clean cut on dry face. Carry case is not that great.

There is no doubt this is the best shaver I've used from Norelco. I have owned Norelco razors since I started shaving. I've tried other razors but always returned them to buy a Norelco. The "so far" in the title refers to the fact that Norelco does not make the same replacement head that came with the 8800 Wet & dry electric shaver, Series 8000 1290X/40 UltraTrack heads GyroFlex 3D contouring system. The reviews I've read about the replacement head are not very good regarding a similar excellent shave I'm getting with the current head. At least I will have great shaves for a year. Hopefully, Norelco will go back to what works.

This shaver is even smoother than my arcitec 1050. The charge is for one full hour, and the display counts down how much time you have left. Overall the best shaver I have ever used

Easy to hold, gentle on face, plenty of power, cleans well.
