Soundbar speaker

Went out to a garage sale with my fiance looking for tools & what not, Came across a Phillip's Soundbar Speaker Model # HTL2101A/F7B, It was manufactured in September 2013 was told it's been dropped etc & didnt work, it wasn't for sale was gonna be put in trash. I offered $1.00 I told her I could use it for parts, bought it came home took it apart, was as told beat up on the interior but exterior looked brand new. I used my soldering gun connected all broken contacts, replaced the power cord with 1 I already had as the cord showed signs of getting hot probably by using cheap extension cords, put it all back together & yes it works amazingly well, so I brought it into my house hooked up to my 60" 4K TV , I have now replaced my Samsung sound bar with this 1.00 Phillip's soundbar. The quality of sound & no distortion is so much better than the $400+ one my wife bought at Best Buy, thank you Phillip's for technology from 2013 that beats competitors 2018 abilities; Will soon be replacing all my electronics with Phillips when able. I needed something with deeper sound. I have a small hdtv (24") in my bedroom and wanted better sound. I bought this and installed it easily. It sounds great! A great value with an affordable price!

Easy to hook up, and sounds great. The surround sound could use some work. It sounds like an echo, but you don't have to use it if you don't want to. Overall I think it's a great product. It also looks nice, and can be mounted on the wall.

Needed something to spruce up the sound of my new flat screen, but didn't want anything too expensive since it's going to live in the basement. Easy set-up, although it didn't come with any cables. Luckily, as a precaution, I bought a coaxial cable when I bought the sound bar. I'm LOVING it. I'm actually surprised by the sound quality for something I bought at WalMart for under $50. The bass is wonderful for the size of the bar. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. Agree with other reviewers, though. Gonna have to elevate my TV so the bar won't interfere with remote function.

We wanted something economical that would simply give us better audio than our TV. With 3 kids running around playing, our TV speakers were no match for the constant background noise in our house. Overall, we are happy with this soundbar, because it does give us better volume. The only complaint we have with it is that the remote sensor is on top of the unit, so when the soundbar is sitting in front of the TV (ours is on a stand at eye level), you have to reach your arm way up to get the remote signal to the sensor, or you have to angle the soundbar down some so you can see the sensor. It seems like it would have been better designed to have the sensor on the front of the unit... Unless these things are intended to sit on the floor? (Not practical when you've got a toddler in the house). Also, at first, the soundbar was blocking the sensor on the front of our TV, so we had to elevate the TV a few inches to overcome that. But all-in-all, we're happy with it for the price.

I can no longer use the sound bar because the remote stopped working and the sound bar has no controls which renders it useless. I enjoyed the sound bar and miss using it but hesitate trying to buy a new remote as I cannot verify that is the problem. I will purchase a new one but it may not be a Philips.

We have purchased 5 sound systems in the past 18 months. This one is the only one that has given us trouble. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. If you happen to drop the remote or accidentally press against it, you will literally spend hours trying to get it to come back on. The sound quality is very poor. Sometimes, it sounds as though it is barely working when you have it as high as it will go. Other times, it works properly. I have purchased many Phillips products through the years and been satisfied. This one has ruined all that. I plan on purchasing a new one tomorrow. I purchased a much more expensive sound system through Best buy and it was worth every penny. This is technically a piece of junk. Remote either doesn't work or barely works. There aren't any buttons to control it on the actual sound bar.

This soundbar has given us trouble from the day we bought it. It has horrible quality. The sound fluctuates. Sometimes it will be loud and other times we can turn it to full volume and barely hear it. The remote is also cheap quality and the buttons are not very responsive. I updated the software and it helped some, but still disappointing.

Bought it with the hopes of plugging it into my smart TV with little trouble. Come to find out it doesn't come with any cables. Why wasn't this stated on the box? The users manual is useless. Bought a cable and it didn't work. Followed the instructions to the letter (of which there were few). The website offered little help. Tried to get support via on-line chat and it was unavailable. Tried to Google the product for troubleshooting to no avail. I've owned quality Philips products in the past and have always been pleased. This is truly a disappointment and an inconvenience to return. Will be more scrutinizing when I attempt a different manufacturer's product. At least I'm armed with questions this time.
