Philips Norelco Shaver 3100Dry electric shaver, Series 3000

I am a senior and shave about once every 3 days. It shaves as close as a straight razor. Fantastic !! Even after a 3 day stubble.

I liked it's shape and the floating heads. That plus it was a Norelco. The only problem I've had just started after decades of use. It's that the little lights have failed. There is a narrow light that lights either green or yellow depending on the charge of the unit. Lately a strange new light appeared just above the narrow one. It was small, red and round, but now that one has also disappeared. So without the lights I have no way of knowing when the battery will need recharging. No real big problem, I don't wait until the razor stops running. I now simply recharge it overnight once a week or two, so I won't be caught with a dead battery. It's still running great.

Customer service was great but my razor keeps breaking. Thank goodness I had warranty.

I should say that if I'd been asked to write this review a couple weeks ago, I wouldn't have been as pleased. Initially, the closeness of the shave was NOT what I hoped for - stubble, missed places, etc left me wishing I'd bought something else. BUT ~ now (as they said to expect in the directions!!!!) it seems as though my skin has adapted to the change from a blade. This razor shaves very close and leaves my skin feeling smooth. It's easy to use, easy to clean and the "messiness" of a blade & shave cream is gone. This razor is easy to clean and saves a lot of time in the mornings. Not to mention, if I need a little "touch up" some evening it is FAST and EASY to do vs a blade. My only complaint is that if you have a goatee or beard, the opo-up trimmer is just that...a TRIMMER!! It takes a VERY steady hand and a brave guy to try to trim a goatee without taking a hunk out of it. There is no trimmer "guide" to control the depth of your stroke.

So far I think that this product does a really nice job and I would recommend it to y friends.

First electric razor bought in 25+ years. My, times have changed from my old Norelco unit. Shaves close, clean and comfortably.

Couldn't be simpler. This razor works well, can be run under the water to clean it out, and runs for a long time without recharging. I bought this for my 92 year old father and it works great! He is used shaving daily with shaving cream and a razor. But, recently because of health issues and being on blood thinners the doctors recommended he switch to an electric razor. He was skeptical because he thought it would be difficult to clean. This razor is amazing! Run it under water and it's all clean & ready to go for the next shave.

Performs very well, I can go a whole week on one charge. Shave is comfortable and very close. The kind of shave I have come to expect from Norelco shavers.

The price was right. like the way it works. Would buy it again.
