does the job well
I am generally pleased with the product performance and features but I wish I had purchased the one with the rotating head. It is difficult to place the head in the proper position when you are doing your own hair. I think the rotating head would correct this problem.

Nice features cannot save it.
I received this clipper as a replacement after my previous Philips clipper failed after just 10 uses. The QC5340 has a nice water washable feature, long comb, solid Li-Ion battery and good manufacturing quality. The battery holds 45min charge after two years of home use. Grip is fine thanks to rubber covering. Good job done here. However the overall design is bad, blades are cheaply made and even a home use will destroy it within two years. Blades DO require OIL. I believed Philips statement that they don`t. After a year I noticed that it started to pull my hair instead cutting them. I thought it was a weak battery. Wrong! After a research I discovered that BLADES became DULL due to continuous dry use. Unfortunately they cannot be easily sharpened. I have tried but they were beyond repair. Courtesy of Philips. Another weak point is the rotary length adjustment. It happens every to me every second time that I rotate the knob unwillingly which will change the hair cut length. So, without noticing, I continued to cut with an unwanted hair length. I must be very careful about this because the knob is in the area where I hold the machine when cutting. The last but not least mistake is the size of the clipper. It is so long that even though it isn`t bulky if I use it on myself it is uncomfortable. The length is putting You out of balance and after an hour I feel it. This is my third Philips hair clipper within 10 years. I am quite disappointing. I stopped buying any battery powered home clippers and bought a professional one. My recommendation is for You to buy a professional machine from any respectable manufacturer. Even if not battery powered it will serve You longer.
