Philips Norelco Shaver 5700Wet & dry electric shaver, Series 5000

This shaver is easy to use. I like that the shaver can be used as a wet shaver as it gives you a better closer shave. The convenience of the cleaning method is a real plus.

Tried a different brand went back to Norelco much better shaver

I chose this rating because the razor it performs well, provides a great shave, and I love the charging system/cleaning system. Also, because I receive outstanding customer service from the Philips Norelco support group.

I shave my head with it, Cuts my hair very good and smooth .

it should be higher in ratings. very close shave and the trimer is very good.

I have had 3 Philips shavers in the past & was satisfied with all of them,but this model has a larger shaving surface & shaves faster & closer with less irritation.

I prefer shaving with a blade razor but since being put on an anticoagulant a small cut on my face although not life threatening could take several hours to stop bleeding. Hence the need to go back to an electric. I first purchased a Norelco 2000 series which did have some issues so I traded up to the 5500, Series 5000 S5370/81. Although I have used it only once as of this morning I am already impressed with a close shave and the overall high quality of this unit. I feel that my appreciation of this unit will increase daily as I use it and I could not be happier with this upgrade. I considered a foil head on a competitor unit and remembered that my experience I had in the past was not worth the risk of trying a new model. I am very satisfied with my new Norelco.

This is my third Philips shaver and it outperforms the previous two in all respects! The head of the shaver rotates over my face and neck with ease and gives me a good close shave with no need to go over the same areas repeatedly. Cleaning is both easy and quick just open the head , rinse and let dry - no need for a brush.

Norelco Shaver I have been using Norelco electric shavers for 45 plus years and this one does not disappoint. It is quick and thorough. It leaves no irritation. It is a close to a blade as any electric razor I have used, and I have used many different brands. I think many of the negative reviews would be different if the user gave it a chance. True, all skin and beards are different, but if you follow the directions you may see better results: Use it for at least 3 weeks with no other shaving method. This gives the machine, and your beard, a chance to “break in” and work in harmony. Some of the reviews stated that you can inadvertently power it off while shaving. If you wrap your thumb around the handle this won’t happen. To some the older Norelco shavers were better, but not for me.

Received a 5700 shaver as a gift. No protective cap enclosed in box as it should be. Had a chat with Valarie. She wanted model & serial number which I found on the back of the shaver. She immediately asked for my address and phone number and told me a new protective cap will be sent within the day, A confirmation e-mail was received within minutes. Excellent customer service. Hope Phillips has a lot more employees like Valarie. A NOTE ON THE LETTERING ON THE SHAVER: GRY LETTERING AGAINST A BLACK SHAVER BACKGROUND JUST DOESN'T WORK. HARD TO SEE EVEN WITH GOOD EYESIGHT.
