My Philips TV cannot be powered on from either the remote control or power button on the TV

Published on 2016-12-29

If the LED light on the front of the set blinks but the TV does not turn on when you press the POWER button on the remote control or the TV, your TV set may require service. Please contact a repair center in your local area.

If the LED light does not blink when you press the POWER button, try unplugging the TV from the wall outlet for 10 seconds.

If the reset solved the problem:

This is a known software problem which can be solved by upgrading the TV software with the latest version available on the website. Refer to the 'Firmware Upgrade Readme' file posted under the 'Software' category on the website for detailed instructions on how to update your set.

If the reset does not solve the problem;

  • If using a surge protector, try plugging the set directly into the wall outlet. An electrostatic discharge could have tripped the breaker in the surge protector
  • You should also try plugging a lamp or other electrical appliance into the wall outlet to make sure there is no problem with the wall outlet
  • If problem persist, your TV set may require service. Please contact a repair center in your local area
