5000 series Smart Ultra HDTV

This is My Very First Ultra HDTV That is in One Of The Sizes That I Wanted To Have and Own in My Name. I Am Loving How Big It is and I Can't-Wait To Add Extra Sound Systems To It.

I bought this in an emergency as my old 45" TV died the morning of Super Bowl. This 65" is much lighter, set up easily, and started working the minute I plugged it in.

First off, let's be clear. NO flat screen, Smart or otherwise, has great speakers. You MUST hook up to a good A/V system. You are buying a picture, not a sound system. My ONLY complaint about this TV is that there is no indicator LED to tell you that it is switched on. Now for the good stuff: The picture is amazing for the price and size, but as is true of all LED TVs, there is no true black as you would get in a plasma or OLED. I really appreciated the ease of setup. This thing hooked right up to my home network with a minimum of bother. There are enough settings in the video menu that you can get into real trouble if you change too many things like Gamma, Pixel performance, and so on. Having said that, I was very pleased with the photos on the opening setting screen, which gave me a good idea of what to do. The menus are very graphic and easy to navigate. Amazingly enough, the You Tube and Netflix apps actually outperformed my Roku!

I've had the TV for over a year with no problems and a great picture. The unit has all the features of the more expensive sets, add a good sound bar and you've hit a home run.

Very happy with the TV with the exception of the sound. Trying to figure how to attach the sound bar that I had on my other TV but apparently the Manual went out with the box. Would greatly appreciate another one. Thanks !!

Like others - disappointed in the fact it dose not have the popular apps other than Netflix, like Amazon and HuLu. Its a flat screen, if you need better sound, then get a soundbar as they were design for these TV's. Cant really complain - just hope it lasts a few years, and maybe an update will come out with those left out Apps.

I've never seen such definition of all colors before, this 4K Ultra HD is more than I've ever experienced in a HD TV. And the sound quality is awesome. Just a small problem with understanding how this Philips 5000 series really works, but that's minor because as I always say "It's a work in progress System."

I have only had this tv for a few days. This is my opinion so far the picture is great. The set up is the easiest I have ever seen on a tv. The sound is not bad even though it seems as others don’t agree. I am disappointed in the fact that it is advertised as having Hulu which it does not. Also even though it’s not advertised I’m still disappointed it doesn’t have amazon prime video. I pay for these services already as I am coming from a non smart tv with a ROKU. I own a Chromecast and Roku so I didn’t necessarily need to buy these items to access my already paid for subscriptions. However I think I spent enough money on a smart TV that I shouldn’t have to use third party devices to use The most popular video streaming apps. Especially when Hulu is on the advertising for this product.
