5000 series Chromecast built-in UHDTV

I had an older Phillips LCD in my bedroom and it out lasted all the other TVs I had in a 10 year time period. I found a great deal on this tv and when I checked the reviews I found that people who were technologically challenged complained about Chromecast. The colors are amazing. Picture is very clear and sports watching is a true pleasure. I recommend this tv even if it is not on sale because it is superior to the other TVs I have that are more expensive. 4K HDR 120 refresh rate Phillips... only very few can compete with this.

Overall the price was good I was just disappointed in the idea of believing it was a smart TV until it arrived and realized there's no apps and it can only cast from your phone or computer. It has chromecast built in but it's not actually a smart TV With apps or any other features and the casting stopped working and It doesn't update via wifi so I'm hoping once I figure out how to update it that the chromecast will work again.

Nice 4k TV....not a big fan of Chromecast..would rather have on screen Smart TV but I have other ways to access Netflix, Hulu etc..so it isn't a problem with me. 4k picture looks great on Netflix!

The size and picture of this TV great on active settings for the power it boots up in no time but for the money it lacking big no smart apps or support it basically a plain TV

I searched the whole T.V. looking for any reason this should be called a smart TV. It doesn't have anymore than a DVD player has. Doesn't have any apps on it, cannot get software updates, the only thing I like about it is that it has a beautiful picture. and that is the ONLY reason I would recommend it to other. This is NOT a smart TV. Come On Philips T.V.

I'm really frustrated with this TV, especially now since power outages are more frequent! Its built-in Chromecast sucks and doesn't work properly and nobody will help you fix it. You just can't win! And I know they don't sell this anymore, but I'm so furious at this product that I'll leave a review anyway!! The two stars are for the image quality, which is the only great thing about this TV. I didn't care about the audio quality, because I already had awesome speakers when I got this TV. So, built-in Chromecast. It keeps disconnecting whenever there's a power outage and there is NO way to reconnect it. I've tried plugging out the TV, the WIFI and the modem all together for more than 2 mins and plug them in again, or even one at a time, and only once WIFI was connected to internet I plugged TV back in and turned it on. NOTHING! I've tried doing everything in the Google Home App as well and asked for their support, but they said they don't offer support for built-in chromecasts, since Philips is the one that built it. So nothing works, right? And I'm stuck using my laptop with the HDMI to do anything on this TV, I even had to buy an HDMI adapter for my new laptop that didn't have an HDMI port. Those were a long two days, just waiting for the adapter to arrive and not being able to do anything with the TV but wipe the dust off it. But then, after I ignore it for two to three days and just use the HDMI, it just starts working again without any reasonable explanation. Yes, I've also plugged the LAN cable in the TV, but it ignores it completely. Also, there is no way to update the software. Me and my software engineer husband have tried it several times, including before writing this review and have never succeeded to update neither the TV software, nor the Chromecast software. Maybe there aren't any software updates for this particular TV. Since it sucks so bad they just gave up on it and hoped that people will not lose their minds trying to make it work and then sue for psychological damage. That, ladies and gentlemen, was my attempt at a joke in these dark times in which not even my TV works anymore. I don't recommend this product to anyone. Its only job is to cast stuff and it does that poorly. You're better off buying a Chromecast device from Google and an even cheaper TV.

TV is light; good for hanging on a wall. Picture is sharp. Sound is much worse than our old Vizio; very tinny with every setting I could adjust. No phono jacks for sound out, but can use headphone jack. No option to have sound out follow volume of tv unless you have HDMI connection. We use Roku to connect to cable; Chromecast marginally helpful. Also got mine from a workplace rewards program, but I can send it back if I decide to.

Have had this TV about 5 months. First off the TV has Very Good picture quality. This good picture quality is not easy to obtain. Using the preconfigured settings are not ideal and lead to normal programming often having animated (cartoon) like features. To get the picture right took weeks of tweaking. The initial setup was ultra frustrating. Hit one wrong button and you have to start over. Was real disappointed that the TV tuner does not provide a Guide function. Even my 10yr old digital TV provides that. As for as viewing in 4K I have only seen the info button tell me that I was viewing in 4K once, and honestly it looked no better than 1080p which looks quite nice. Let's move on to the really cheap tinny sounding speakers. They have a rattle that comes and goes, this has been present from day one. No, I don't have the Bass setting turned all the way up, it is on +2. I must mention that this TV was a gift from my employer for 20+ years of service, and has been real disappointing. Therefore I have no return option. If I had purchased this, it would have been returned.
