Yes, time is precious in the early morning getting ready for work so this machine promises when making latte and cappuccino. Agree that the milk dispenser could be hotter as the drink is just warm. Used this coffee maker for 8 months so far and love the convenience of espresso compared to a manual maker which is more of a pain compared to this model. Looks fabulous on the kitchen counter; yes, need a bit higher cabinet clearance to fit on top of the counter but I found a spot. Would recommend this super automatic espresso maker.

Used this machine for 2 years, twice a day and has never failed. Like anything mechanical it is important to handle parts gingerly and clean it when sytem advises to. I love the quality and variety of the conical grinding of fresh beans and the amazing coffee taste Xselsis Evo produces. I travel extensively to many countries famous for their coffee, have owned foreign machines but am Sold on Saeco.

We have used this machine for over a month now and love the technology that produces flavorful, consistent quality lattes and cappuccinos time after time. It is a remarkably piece of technology and beautifully graces any countertop. The self-cleaning features minimize maintenance time. For a coffee aficionado that appreciates good expresso beverages, this may be the ultimate machine. The multiple user profiles represent a feature that some families may find important, although we have not yet found the need for them. The spent grounds and fresh water capacities are a bit smaller than one might wish, but servicing these items becomes easier with use. It takes a bit of study to understand fully how the machine functions and take advantage of all the features. Do give some time to the accompanying User Manual.

Have been using ours for over a year now. Not a single problem. The machine tells you when to dump grounds, fill water, dump rinse water. I do agree if you like coffee a lot, it does seem like you are dumping rinse water constantly ... but then again the machine never screws up, overflows with water or grounds! I agree, the milk frother could be hotter. The machine even tells you when it needs cleaning and step by step directions on how to clean it automatically. Very user friendly and makes a great cup of coffee!

Great machine, have it for about a month. Make cappuccino in the morning, espresso macchiato midday, and espresso macchiato decaf in the evening. Looks great. Very happy with it. Improvements required: 1. Should have storage reservoir for ground coffee - currently need to do 1 spoonful at a time - tedious. 2. Should have bigger water runoff reservoir. Need to empty about 2X per day. 3. Some displayed screen messages are not described in the owner's manual. Overall, glad that we bought machine. From the first time that we saw it on display knew that needed to have it.

The machine is better than I expected. Maintenance is easy - just empty grounds and dripping when it tells you, add water and coffee periodically and that's it. There is additional periodic cleaning necessary, but compared to my old machine this is nothing. I'm making great coffee in half the time with no mess. The machine is simply a pleasure to use.

Great machine--should be, costs a lot. The drip tray, grounds box and water overflow have to be emptied too frequently.

The Saeco EVO HD8954/47 is a great product. This is our 2nd Saeco Super Automatic Espresso Machine. We've been using this model for about 6 months now, and everything seems to work well. The espresso drinks are tasty; the digital front panel is quick and easy; the capacity is good for a home kitchen; it has the added steam wand should you choose to steam/froth your own milk, rather than use the auto milk frothing dispenser; regular owner maintenance is reasonable; it's large, but not so huge it won't fit properly on most kitchen countertops..... There are three important things that Saeco needs to upgrade on their next revision for this model (hence the 4 stars): (1) The milk needs to dispense at a much higher temperature. It's just not hot enough, and we always have to re-steam our espresso drinks. This is a fairly common compliant on most brands with auto milk frothing dispensers. :o( (2) The bypass for pre-ground coffee needs to be made available for ANY and ALL espresso/coffee drinks, (i.e., the American Coffee can only be made via the whole coffee bean hopper). (3) The internal drip tray needs to accommodate more rinse water - it has to be emptied too often for those who make milk based espresso drinks. Current technology is put to good use in this model....It's still definitely worth purchasing. We looked at other brands, and their milk dispensers were often separate from the machine and had to be placed on the counter next to the machine - which is a complete hassle; or the machines were so gigantic, they wouldn't be practical for a home kitchen counter. Always measure how much space you have available before purchasing a machine of this type. Hope this info helps ya'll. ;o}

We like the machine. It is easy to operate and makes superb coffee. The down side is the pressure on the front panel over a period of time caused the hinges to fail. Within a year of purchase had to send back for hinge replacement.
