5.1 Home theater

Looking for a system that won't kill your wallet and has everything you need? Then here it is the Philips HTS3564! After watching plenty of moveis both blu ray, 3D blu ray as well as DVD I haven't killed this unit yet. I have had it cranked up and I haven't blown the speakers just complaints to turn it down from my WIFE! I love the remote so simple to use and the menu quide is pretty simple to undertsand. Only thing I had to do was look up EASYLINK. I didn't understand that at first but with HDMI cables one remote will control it all. However, do not know if 3d TV by philips is required that is the only down side to this maunal is not very clear on this feature. Other than that couldn't be happier I have had this unit for 3 months and family and I have seen more movies on this than at the theaters. Please remember that this is a 5.1 channel and all speakers have wires, hence the 4 not a 5 star rating. However, 1000 watts makes up for it, this helps give the unit more in depth surround sound. The speakers can be adjusted individually in the menu set up by distance and volume.This 3D Blu Ray player also has instant vudu preset button and netflix preset button this helps not having to go to the home screen each time. Overall very happy with this unit comes with a with 1 year warrenty from manufacturer.

Bought this unit in 2015. It will play dvd's, but not blue ray. I've tried to update, it will not. The only thing I use it for is surround sound while watching tv. It was cheap and sounds good so I kept it. I wouldn't put the piece of cr#p in the living room though. I just use it in the bedroom.

this product is impossible to update and with out the updates in place it will not read BLU-RAY discs it says you can update with out internet connection but i have tried multiple times with and with out an internet connection and it will not update completely. it also has difficulty reading DVDs when it is not updated, i constantly have to try to update it just for it to read a DVD its next to impossible to get it to play a BLU-RAY

Relatively simple to use and looks nice, but it just doesn't work. I'm a technical operations supervisor for the second largest cable company in the world. I know what I'm doing. Ever since I opened the box, it has not functioned properly. The sound is overpowered by the bass and adjustments don't seem to help. The miss and trebles are very garbled. And don't even think about streaming from the internet. I have 300mbps down and 25mbps up for my internet speed, which I receive on every device in my house other than this system. At first I thought it was a Wi-Fi problem with the HTS, so I ran a hardline from my modem . It didn't help. It still freezes and refuses to download videos and movies. I've uploaded every update that comes through and it always seems to get slightly worse. I'll never buy another Philips product as long as I live. Nor will I let my children if it can be helped.
