Philips AventNewborn Glass Starter Set

I was given this gift set to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I like the variety in the set and the fact that I got several necessities all in one package: different bottle sizes, bottle brush, pacifier, and formula container. I really appreciated the different bottle sizes and nipple sizes included as it can grow with baby. We have not used formula, so I was unable to test the formula dispenser but we have used it to hold other items in her diaper bag. My picky baby likes the nipples on these bottles and I like that they are glass, since I don't need to worry about anything leeching from plastic. She doesn't take pacifiers very much or often (she uses them as a teether more often), but of the different pacifiers we have, the Soothie is her favorite. I think this would make a great shower gift and is a great set to try out with your new baby!

We received the bottle gift set while I was pregnant. I was familiar with the Avent Natural line as we used the bottles with my first born and I am impressed with the bundling of the set for a new parent. Whether using breast milk or formula this set has everything a mom or dad needs to get started.Definitely a must for a registry item or a baby shower gift! We started using the bottles with our newborn when she was 3 weeks old. She made a smooth transition from breast to bottle and then back to breast. We are trying to move away from plastic so using the glass bottles is great. The bottles are thick, durable and seem like they will hold up against a drop or a tossing toddler. The bottles, nipples and cap come apart and are easy to clean. The soothie pacifier is good quality and comes with a cap to protect it. My little one isn't interested in the soothie pacifier but she doesn't take a pacifier at all. Although we aren't using formula, we have been using the formula container to keep snacks for our older son.The bottle brush is perfect for cleaning bottles and nipples. It reaches the bottom of the bottles and gets them squeaky clean. All in all, this is a great set and we are getting lots of use from it!

I am a first time mom and maternity nurse. My baby is bottlefed 1-6 times a day. We loved the Philips Avent Gift Set, I think it's the perfect gift for any family welcoming a new baby! My baby took to the bottles right away as they were very naturally designed to mimic breastfeeding. It was important to me to find a glass bottle that my baby would take, so this set was ideal for us, in addition to buying a couple single bottles, it was all we needed! As for the pacifier, it is they only kind that my baby will take. Added bonus the pacifiers come in just a plain clear! Being that I had such success with this gift set, it is definitely one I would give as a future shower present! I received this pump at no cost as a member of the wee spring parent panel.

As new parents, my husband and I were both very concerned about using plastic products with our newborn son. Being fairly eco-centric, I was very keen of the desire to feed our son from glass bottles instead of plastic since they will last longer and are easier on the environment. We plan on have several children, so I wanted something that could be dependable for a long time. Before our son was born we bought just one of each kind of glass bottle we could find. After little one came along, we tried each brand out and found we had a clear favorite. We bought plenty more of that one brand and gave the rest away. When my son was a few months old, the weeSpring Parent Panel gave me the opportunity to try this new glass gift set from Philips Avent. I was excited to try another brand since most had failed horribly. Would this new glass bottle be as good as our current one? The first thing I was impressed with was the fact that the Avent Bottles also took colicky babies into account and made the bottle in such a way to reduce air intake. This was a big selling point when we chose our first brand as there were not very many glass bottles that had an effective venting system. The Avent Bottles seemed to work just as effectively as our chosen brand, but they didn’t have as many pieces to assemble. Big thumbs up on that count, since assembling your fourth bottle in the middle of the night is not much fun! Another huge concern of mine was nipple confusion. As a working mom, my son needed to be able to transition from breast to bottle with no problems. Our baby took to using the new Avent bottle seemlessly. He didn’t have any problems going back and forth from breast, to Avent bottle, or to using our chosen brand. Another thumbs up in our book. The got the same results when having him try the pacifiers that came with the gift set from Avent. My son used them exclusively for a bit, then we misplaced them for a few days (life with little ones!) and he had no issue going back to his old pacifier he got in the NICU. No issues with nipple confusion, however, I did like that the new Avent pacifiers were clearer than his old pacifier. It made it really easy to see his cute smile, but it wasn’t so clear that I couldn’t see it when it dropped on the floor. More thumbs up! Other ways that the bottles were similar was in their leaking consistency. Every bottle we tried leaked a drip or two if held upside down long enough. This was true for the Avent Bottles as well. It took a couple of tries to get used to attaching the nipple part of the bottle correctly to prevent copious leaking, but I remember the same learning curve with our chosen bottle brand. After a day or two of constant feedings, you will get the hang of it. Being glass, the bottle is heavier than its plastic counterparts which means it will take longer for your little one to be able to hold the bottle themselves. Some families might see that as a drawback. By this point, my son was old and coordinated enough to hold the smaller bottle with no assistance, but I don’t do that very often anyway. We prefer to snuggle during milk time. I found that the bottle brush that came with the set to be very effective for cleaning the bottles, including the nipple. It was obviously designed with the Avent Bottles in mind, because it didn’t do as good a job cleaning our first chosen brand. To sum things up, if these glass Avent Bottles had been around when my son was born, I think it would have been a toss up between them and our chosen brand. They may have won simply because there are less pieces to clean. Also, this kit only came with 5 bottles and any pumping mom out there will tell you that you need at least 10-15 bottles on rotation. However, a gift set only containing 5 bottles seems to be industry standard, so I really can’t give it a thumbs down for that. I would definitely recommend people buy the set for a new family because it’s a gift that could last all their pregnancies, it helps prevent the baby from swallowing too much air, and it’s easier to manage clean up than the only other contender on the market. Given that the set has everything you need to really give the brand a test drive, it would make a great Baby Shower gift as well! I received the Avent Glass Bottles Gift Set to review from the WeeSpring Parent Panel, and was thrilled to get it because I had been thinking about buying the Avent glass bottles myself. One of my biggest concerns when buying anything for my baby is making sure it's safe and eco-friendly, which is why I would definitely recommend this set for any expecting parent to add to their registry. The Avent Natural bottles are a great design and I particularly liked them for my baby because they reduced gas, which had been a problem for us with other bottles. I was nursing as well as bottle feeding and my baby had no trouble switching from one to the other. The bottles themselves were easy to clean and maintain, and I had no issues with leaks. You have to make sure to thread the tops carefully and not tighten them too much. It was great to have the formula dispenser and bottle brush included; this set definitely covers all the basic necessities for bottle feeding. My baby isn't a fan of pacifiers, and the Soothie wasn't an exception, unfortunately. But I would definitely give this set as a baby shower gift, and would have loved to get one for mine!

I received this bottle set for free from the weespring Parent Panel in exchange for my honest opinion. I received these bottles when my baby was approximately five months old. Prior to receiving the bottles, he has only been given a few bottles of pumped breastmilk. First of all I was pleasantly surprised that they were glass bottles. I love using glass over plastic. The glass is really thick and they are very easy to hold so I wasn’t worried about them dropping and shattering. The design is curved and I found them very comfortable to hold. Because they are a wider bottle, they are very easy to clean. At five months old my baby had only had a few bottles and he was able to transition from the nipples on these bottles back to the breast very easily. I was pleasantly surprised with these bottles and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and I would certainly buy them again!

I prefer to use glass for everything - water bottles, food storage, and of course baby bottles, so was really excited to try the Philips Avent glass bottle set as a perk from the WeeSpring parent panel. The bottles are nicely sized, and my son acclimated well to the wide nipple. The set includes both 4 oz and 9oz bottles, a bottle brush, pacifier, and storage canister (which I haven't used), but everything else is great. I consider this a great value, and would recommend it to any parent looking for conscious options for their child!

As a first time mom, I reached out to a dozen friends before making any purchases. When it came to bottles, I knew I wanted to purchase glass bottles and I really liked what I'd heard from one mom friend I especially trust. All four of her kiddos had taken to the Avent Natural glass bottles. I'd also heard not to go too nuts about purchasing them beforehand since it's very common your newborn will refuse one type and take to another. I registered for three small 4oz bottles and three larger 8 oz and received them at my shower. Months later, we found that our son immediately took to these... like a wonder child. I wished I had more! We were breastfeeding, but I was pumping so Grandma or Dad could give him a bottle while I was at work or we were out for a date. He was switching back and forth between the Natural Avent bottle and breastfeeding without a hitch! Just as I was preparing to purchase more, I received my first WeeSpring Parent Panel item to review - and sure enough, it was an Avent Natural starter kit, with three 4 oz bottles, three 8 oz bottles, a brush to clean them (that I still use and love almost 6 months later!), a snack carrier that we've just begun using and are enjoying, and two soothies. For whatever reason, my son never took to a soothie/paci so I feel I can't review those fairly. I will say, we bought probably 5 or 6 different brands and he didn't like ANY of them. We are at 6 months old now and still loving these bottles. We never progressed past the newborn nipple size, we tried a couple times, but my son would have a harder time keeping up with the flow of it, or would freak out at the end when the bottle was gone faster than he was used to. So we just purchased yet another two packs of the size 1 nipple and all seems to be going perfect. I feel very lucky to have had such a great breastfeeding and bottle journey thus far (especially since I went back to work part time after three months), and I can't help but think it's because of the design of the nipple on the Avent Natural bottles. I highly recommend them and would definitely gift this set to a first time mom.

I received this gift set from the weeSpring Parent Panel. It is amazing-I can’t think of enough positive things to say about it!! We already used the Phillips Avent Natural bottles, but I LOVED the fact that the bottles in this set are glass. They are much easier to clean than the traditional plastic, and seem quite sturdy, having even been dropped on a concrete floor a few times! The bottle brush is fantastic-the bristles are much sturdier than the standard foam bottle brushes, and a huge bonus is that it fits into my narrow mouth bottles as well! The pacifiers in the pack were a great bonus too, as my little one is very picky and only takes this brand! The formula dispenser worked well too, though since we breastfeed only we used it to hold snacks rather than formula powder! Just a few minor cons-the larger (8oz) glass bottles are a bit to heavy to safely give baby to hold without assistance. The nipples included in the pack were too fast a flow for our purposes (we are still on size 0 at 14m)-for a starter set it would have been nice to have at least one size 0 as well as the 1s and 2s included with the pack. Overall I would highly recommend this package to someone. I find the bottles and nipples to be of very high quality and have very much enjoyed adding them to our stash. I will purchase more of these glass bottles for my next baby!

These are my favorite baby bottles! I prefer using eco-friendly bottles and also care about aesthetics, so these bottles were a perfect fit. I love the shape of the glass and the nipple is the softest one I've seen. My daughter liked it as well. I don't use formula, so I didn't need the dispenser, but it could easily be used for other things. I also really appreciate that it came with a brush and pacifiers, how thoughtful!
