Philips AventAnti-colic bottle gift set

I received these as a member of the WeeSprings Parent Panel. Thank you to them for providing this opportunity! These bottles were great, as they had less parts than bottles we had been using. My daughter is 8 months old now and is eating regularly from them. I was also thankful to receive a bottle brush with it. I can't speak to the pacifiers as she won't take one, but they look fine. I would absolutely give this set as a gift to a new family, as it include all of the essentials that are needed in those first few weeks! I also like that it can "grow" with baby through the sippy trainer cups.

This gift set was an awesome value if you like Avent products or would like to try multiple products. We have found every item included to be useful and . My son was not able to latch well as an infant so we had issues breastfeeding or using any wide mouth bottles labeled as natural. While we loved the ease and design of the Avent Natural Baby Bottle, the nipple did not work well for him and he took in too much air with those and similar bottles. We switched to the Avent anti-colic bottles and noticed a HUGE difference. He was able to latch correctly, had less dribble and noise while eating, was less gassy and uncomfortable, and spit up less. These bottles are also SO much easier to clean than other brands we were using and have minimal parts. You don't need special brushes to get in all the areas, the included brush will do everything. I greatly appreciate that this set is useful for more than just the newborn stage like most other sets. It includes a variety of bottle sizes, plus the trainer spout and handles to use for bigger babes. My Jack is now 9 months old and loves to use the handles and feed himself. We use the spout to give him water with meals and he is so proud. For formula fed babies the dispenser is a must have for the diaper bag. It eliminates the need for one more heavy item in your diaper bag and is so easy to use on the go. I like to swap out bottle brushes every month, so the brush was a great addition to the set. It fits easily in the bottle neck without sending water everywhere. Overall, the bottles have been my favorite we have tried! This set is a great starter set for new (or repeat) moms as it has everything to get you started from feeding to cleaning to quieting at night. The set includes items that your baby will use from birth into toddlerhood. I usually hate starter sets because they are usually so specific, but almost everything in this set is interchangeable and work with other Avent classic and natural style bottles. This is especially helpful because it doesn't matter what I grab, all of the items will fit together with other Avent bottles I own. The only drawbacks I had with the set are that it only comes in gender specific colors and the air-free vents only work in the classic style bottle and when aligned at a specific angle. Even with their drawbacks, the air-free vents are quite ingenious. I wish I had gotten them sooner to help with my LO's gassiness. They use science magic to keep the nipple full of milk, even if the bottle is on it's side rather than up and down. The vent does need to remain at the top of the bottle while using - which is a downside when your LO wants to hold the bottle themselves. I prefer the style of bottle brush in this set as it only has bristles on one side, which sounds like a bad thing, but it's actually great. Because they're only on one side, the soapy water doesn't spray soapy water in all directions but only the direction the bristles point when you pull it out of the bottle. My LO loves the handles now that she wants to feed herself. The sippy/trainer cup nipple is handy how it's sliced. She can get milk out easily, but if she decides to throw it across the room I don't have to clean milk from everywhere. I'm not using formula, so I didn't use the container for that, but it's great for snacks! I received this gift set from the weeSpring Parent Panel.

This set has everything to get a new mom started. Bottles, nipples, brushes, pacifiers, and a sippy cup conversion kit. It works with newborns through toddler with different sized bottles, nipples and handle and sippy nipple. All of the parts are interchangeable and I was able to use them with other advent bottles and nipples I already own. The air-free vent is really cool. Now that my LO is sitting up to drink it works really well at keeping milk in the nipple. The only downside is that the vent only works if it's kept at the top of the bottle. I'm not formula feeding, so I didn't use the container to portion formula, but it's great for snacks!

Even though my daughter is bigger now (9 months) I will always prioritize anti-colic bottles. Was very excited to try a new brand - thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this gift set. I’m a big fan of the bottlebrush; it’s one of the best I’ve ever tried. It’s sturdy, soft bristles and you can use the end to clean hard to reach areas. I’m looking forward to keep washing baby’s dishes with it! I know a new mom would have high standards after trying this out; it’s a great value and awesome added bonus to the gift set. Another favorite part of this gift set was the My First Trainer Cup. I was skeptical in the beginning because of the 2 pieces you have to put on in order to use with the handle. However it’s super easy to put in and screw on. My baby actually prefers this one to others we’ve tried that have grip. I was surprised! It’s now our go-to water bottle and I’m excited for us to use the other spout when she’s a little older. The bottles are great! My baby doesn’t get that gassy anymore as she’s gotten older yet I feel like these have been delivering so far with their anti-colic technology as advertised. I’m a fan of how easy these bottles are to clean without several parts you have to take apart. Win win! Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this gift set! It is a wonderful set of bottles . As a new parent I was completely clueless when it came to bottles, nipples, etc. I was only buying products that were recommended to me from my family and friends. Once I received this gift set we started using the bottle immediately and my 3 month old LOVES them! Sometimes he would fuss when taking a bottle, but he guzzles these right down and it does seem that there is less spit-up when using the airfree vents provided. I also LOVE the brush that came in this gift set! It fits into all of the bottles I have and has nice long bristles to get all of the hard to reach spots. I would definitely recommend this gift set to an expecting parent or to give for a baby shower gift!

This is a great gift set that I would definitely recommend to expecting parents, it is great for those who want to have the option of the occasional bottle feeding or full time bottle feeding. I want the option of occasionally bottle feeding my breastfed baby and this is the perfect kit for it. The accessories it comes with - pacifiers, formula dispenser, bottle cleaner - are a nice added extra. I like that there is a training cup included in the set. I was given this gift set to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel and I was very happy with it. It comes with 5 bottles, 3 small and 2 large. I particularly liked the bottles because they fit with my breast pump parts so that I'm able to pump directly into them. The bottles feature an anti-colic vent that aims to keep the air out of the nipple. It seemed to work well and I think it was really neat how the design also keeps the nipple full of milk even when you tip the bottle back down. The air did start to come in when the bottle was nearing completion, though, so it's not a perfect system. My baby hasn't had colic, so I can't attest to how it was with respect to relieving colic. There are several items that I haven't had a chance to test yet: pacifiers, formula dispenser, bottle brush, trainer cup handles. I do find it a very attractive combination of items, though, and think it's a great item to either place on your registry or buy for an expecting couple. If there's anything I've found as a new parent, it's that you can never have enough bottles!

Being the mom of a two-month-old who is quite particular about his bottles (and we have the bottle graveyard to prove it!) I was a bit skeptical that the Avent Anti-Colic bottles would be accepted by my son at all. The bottles that he uses most have a completely different nipple shape than the Avent bottles, but, because he does tend to suffer from painful gas, I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. I was pleasantly surprised! These bottles do exactly what they advertise. They come with a little vent that has two openings which allow milk to flow into the nipple, but not out-- so long as you keep it tilted upward a bit. (Avent has a pretty cool video that explains how the vent works). It really does keep the nipple full of milk which helps to lessen the amount of air baby takes in while drinking. Because my son prefers to feed in an upright position, this feature was really awesome for us. I did notice a bit of a decrease in the amount that he needed to burp and his fussiness post-feeding after using these bottles! Though he took them happily, my son did tend to have a harder time latching to these nipples and milk would spill out of the sides of his mouth and he’d often lose his latch with a big sucking sound. I really do think this was because he is used to a vastly different shaped nipple rather than a design flaw in the bottle I really loved that this set came with a variety of bottles and nipples for every stage of bottle feeding. This was perfect for us because my son needs the larger bottles for his 6 oz feedings, but is still using the slow flow nipples. When he’s ready for a faster flow, we won’t have to buy anything new! What truly makes this set great are the accessories. We use the formula holder for every feeding because it’s so much easier to pre-measure than to scoop each time you have a hungry baby waiting. I love that the divider is removable, so it can be a snack cup for cheerios or other goodies when baby gets older. I like the bottle brush a lot more than I thought that I would, and I find myself reaching for it more often than the brush that we already had. By far our favorite thing in this entire set are the pacifiers, simply because they are the first pacis that my son has ever accepted and kept in his mouth. He was recently hospitalized for RSV, and they were an absolute Godsend in the hospital, often the only way we could calm him during painful procedures. Bottles and pacifiers are hard to review because they’re so subjective. Every baby is different and has their own preferences. Overall, though, I think this set is really awesome. Everything you need for bottle feeding your baby in one box... you really can’t go wrong. This would make a great gift for a new or expecting mother. Long before I gave birth, I had high hopes to exclusively breastfeed my son. I had completely bought into the "breast is best" argument and not only did I want to exclusively give him breastmilk, I also (initially) wanted to do it directly from the breast, i.e. no bottles. His pediatrician encouraged me to introduce a bottle before he hit 4 weeks but I protested/disobeyed her instructions. After gathering many opinions from various sources online (and from fellow mommas/grandmas), I finally felt comfortable with introducing the bottle on his 5 week "birthday". The point of this background is to convey that I was **very apprehensive** about introducing an artificial nipple to my son too soon, for fear of nipple confusion and ruining our seemingly fragile (but yes, established) latch. I simply wanted him to become familiar with the bottle, but still favor the breast. I received the Philips Avent Gift Set as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel at the perfect time...it arrived when my son was 4 weeks old, a week before I wanted to introduce his first bottle. My favorite feature about these bottles is that they are WIDE-NECKED (which I've heard is best when you plan to move interchangeably between breast and bottle). This made me much more comfortable with giving to my son. When I gave my son his first Avent bottle, he latched no problem and the flow seemed totally fine (i.e. not too fast!) My son has some gas issues and so I love the anti-colic feature of this bottle, which really seems to work (i.e. no spit up after each feeding!) And since introducing the bottle, our son has still maintained a love for the breast while loving the new bottles too. I have only used the bottles with the anti-colic insert, but I appreciate that they have the versatility to be used without those inserts also in the future. I also like that the anti-colic insert has a reminder regarding which side is up (in the event a family member/friend is feeding him and can easily be reminded). Last, I love that this gift set comes with a transition bottle, a variety of sizes, and pacifiers so it can *grow with you*!
