Reasons why I think this headphone is the number one choice: Price: Superior than those at the same price range and comparable to those that cost hundreds Sound quality: Mid-range and treble are perfect. Bass is good, but sub bass is quite weak, which is understandable since it's open-back. However, I used equalizer APO to boost the sub bass and it's perfect. Trust me, even some small tweaks can make any headphones sound better. Soundstage is perfect which makes your music really wide and clear because every instruments have room to shine. Comfort: Extremely comfortable because the earcups are really wide and soft. I can wear this for more than 5 hours without any pain. The clamping force is super light, which makes it even more comfortable. Build quality: It's great. Not the most premium build-quality, but I don't think that's necessary. I dropped the headphone twice and it still worked fine for me. Overall, I think headphone is perfect for anyone. It proves that you don't need hundreds of dollar to get a good headphone.

After doing extensive research, I purchased the SHP9500 with the combination of a V-MODA BoomPro for use on my new Xbox One X. These headphones have far exceeded my expectations. Super light, super comfortable, even after lengthy game sessions. I have quite a large head (I have to special order any headwear) and these fit with room to spare. I also wear glasses and have experienced no impact to comfort or fit. I enjoy the open back as I can hear the audio with perfect clarity while still being able to hear my surroundings. If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and purchase these immediately. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This was my first audiophile-grade pair of headphones. I have cherished them since the very day I got them. They keep on surprising me from time to time. Insane soundstage, great separation and imaging, and good clarity for under $200. The sound signature is near-neutral with an impressive vocal presence. Percussion sounds so good in these. Treble is a bit rolled off. These punch way above their weight can be compared to many competitive headphones and these win it every time, mainly because of the price. Another important aspect is that these are insanely comfortable. I have worn $1000+ headphones that are awful when it comes to comfort but these hit a sweet spot. Sometimes I cannot even feel that they are on my head. Also, the designing is pretty cool and Philips' attention to detail is commendable. If my current pair ever breaks, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to buy another pair of these.

Great headphones for the price, absolutely blows away anything I've ever had. Extremely comfortable, no itchiness or tightness on my head even after hours of use. Fantastic sound let alone the great price. Quality product.

I'll keep it brief... Comfortable, great build quality, top notch sonic attributes for the money !

Not much to say really. Excellent sounding cans. Great headband up top. Very large ear cups with just the right amount of clamp force make these the most comfortable headphones I've ever used. The only downside really is that the overall visual design could've been a little more streamlined. For example, getting rid of all the white writing and just keeping the big L, R and Philips logo would be a great start.

I was able to improve my experience with these headphones by using a software-based equalizer to lower the volume of the higher frequencies. The clamping force of the headband is focused on the top, rather than the sides, of the head. The open design of these headphones means that there is very little sound isolation.

I just received them in the mail notice a few faults like cable not working but hands down the best open headphones out there you could buy and even for the price. A must buy for anyone looking to buy open headphones. The sound quality is amazing a little bit low on the bass but there are open if you want bass look for a close headphones. This are best for gaming in my opinion, for music they are great but not on heavy bass music. The most comfortable headphones I have owned and one the best fitment. The design is admirable but not something i would like to take outside in public even if they were close headphones. The big R and L on the outside make them look like headphones for kids who cant tell Right from Left. Nothing is perfect they are the best headphones but they have the worst accessories like the cable and the fact that the ear pads are not removable so you cannot replace the ear cushions with other ones. The cable is the worst it feels lose from one end of the connector of the 3.5 jack and it wiggles to much and it is bouncy like a spring.
