Is Zoom! whitening safe for teeth?

All Philips Zoom! whitening products including in-office, take-home custom and take-home semi-custom trays are proven safe on enamel without compromising the whitening effectiveness

Does Philips Zoom! whitening cause tooth sensitivity?

Some people may experience temporary tooth sensitivity during treatment. However, all Philips Zoom! products are designed to prevent tooth sensitivity caused by whitening. Based on surveys, customers experience little-to-no teeth sensitivity123

What is the difference between Philips Zoom! in-office whitening, take-home trays and semi-custom trays? How should I choose?

We recommend choosing a whitening solution based on desired time-to-result and convenience:

  • In-office treatment provides the fastest results. Clinically proven to whiten up to 8 shades in 45 minutes. This is ideal if you want immediate results.
  • Take-home treatments require a dental visit to make custom trays that ensure a perfect fit for great whitening results. After forming the tray, customers continue treatment at home. Erase years of stains in a safe and effective way. Flexible choice for treatments – from 30 min a day to overnight. Optimal results within 2 weeks. Ideal product for best fit to your teeth and control.
  • Semi‑custom tray treatment is ideal for users who want convenience and lower cost. Patients can mold their trays at the comfort of their own homes. Use once a day for 30 minutes to achieve a whiter smile in 3 days, with full results after only 9 uses.

What is the difference between DayWhite and NiteWhite?

The main difference is in wear times. Philips Zoom! DayWhite uses various percentage HP formulations that are faster and require a wear time of 30-90 minutes per day. Philips Zoom! NiteWhite products use CP formulations, act relatively slower and need to be worn 2-4 hours per day or overnight.

Can whitening products cause allergic reactions?

If you have a history of allergic reactions, consult your dentist before you use the whitening products.

Can I combine in‑office and take‑home treatments?

Yes. Some dental treatments start with an in‑office session for fast, noticeable change and follow with take‑home trays (custom or semi‑custom) for gradual maintenance and touch‑ups. Discuss the treatment plan with your dentist.

Can I whiten my teeth while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Most professionals advise women not to whiten their teeth during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Can I use whitening products if I have crowns, veneers or fillings?

Yes, but whitening gels do not work on restorations. Expect restorations to remain in the same shade. Consult your dentist about restorations.

How long do whitening results last?

After whitening treatment, your teeth may never be as dark as they were. However, they may still become slightly discolored over time, especially if you smoke or consume pigmented foods. For this reason, some people opt for a touch-up treatment once or twice a year. Talk to your dentist about the available options.
