It hurts when using the Philips Avent breast pump.

    Published on 2019-11-13

You are not supposed to experience any pain when using the Philips Avent breast pump. In the unfortunate event that you do, these tips might help.

    Play Pause
    • Check if the breast pump cushion has been placed on the breast correctly
    • Check the Silicone diaphragm (refer to user manual): Are there small slits in the Silicone diaphragm? If the Silicone diaphragm is damaged or broken, please order a new one to replace the defective item. You can also contact the customer support center for additional assistance
    • If the pump does not come away easily from the breast, it may be necessary to break the suction by placing a finger between the breast and massage Cushion or between the breast and pump funnel
    • If the pain persists it is best to stop using the breast pump and consult your breastfeeding advisor
