The Cry Translation service, powered by Zoundream, is a useful tool to help you understand your baby's different cries and tells you what they might mean. However, it is important to remember that this tool is not meant to replace parental judgment. Philips is not liable for the translation results. It is recommended to seek the advice of a medical professional when necessary.
If the Cry Translation result seems inaccurate, the troubleshooting tips below may help you find a solution.
- Check the baby's age. While the Cry Translation feature is suitable for 0-12-month-old infants, it is best optimized for 0-6-month-olds.
- Ensure the Baby Unit is not too close or far away. It should not be outside the limits of the operating range. Move it so your baby's cry can be detected accurately.
- Ensure there is no background noise in the room, such as pets, dehumidifiers, or vacuum cleaners, that might interfere with the baby's cry.
- Check if your Wi-Fi connection is good and stable, as it may impact the speed at which the Cry Translations are received. Check the strength of the Wi-Fi signal on the App settings page. It works best when it shows "Excellent" or "Good". Otherwise please use a Wi-Fi repeater for a stronger signal.
- Wait until the so-called 'cooldown' period ends. We have set a limit (or so-called 'cooldown') and stop temporarily sending you notifications and cry translations after each cry translation. The feature helps avoid confusing you and overloading you with different translations in a very short period of time. After the time (usually a few minutes) is counted down, the feature will automatically go back to detecting and analyzing the status (if the baby is still crying).
