I bought this for my son hope he will learn to drink out of the cup like adults, but the water leaked on his shirt. And the top is not easy to clean. It's all black inside the top.

I bought a pair of these or my twins. They work great & really don't leak. My girls could use them easily by about 18mos, maybe a bit earlier. Just for kicks, within a few days of getting the cups, both girls figured out how to press the edge of the cup & dump them out. They never used spout cups, but like the straws & this was a great way to ease them into regular cups. Unfortunately, I accidentally melted them & it's been so much less expensive to replace them with the straw cups that I haven't gotten more yet.

I have bought the munchkin miracle cup and this cup and if it weren't for the price I would buy a ton more because its much more durable than the munchkin cuo and it doesn't spill. I have used this cup over a month and its still intact and my daughter loves it! The munchkin cuo has a ring around it and it tore which made it began to leak and this cup doesn't have that. I've always loved avent products and will definitely keep buying from them :)

My 11mo old son couldn't figure out sippy cups and loved drinking straight from an adult cup, but alas the spills were a problem, even with me holding the cup. I was convinced he would be drinking from a bottle till 18 mo plus. Enter this cup -- it is a perfect solution! He figured it out on the first try, and the only time it leaks is when he gets a mouthful and doesn't swallow. For those who say it leaks, yea, it does leak, but only when it isn't properly assembled; otherwise, I can tip it, turn it over, shake it, with no leaks. Liquid escapes only when the top is depressed. Then, its up to your child to swallow in time so it doesn't go all over him/her. The included instructions were easy to understand and it is easy to reassemble after washing. Love it!! Thank you for this design!

This cup leaks all over the place! I have tried reassembling and to no avail- my son has fun splashing in the puddles this cup makes. Good concept- but the cheap brands work better! Disappointed in this avent product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TNAC Excellent design and logical concept
Baby gets a chance to have a much more realistic experience as they move to an actual "adult" drinking glass by using this transitional cup. So many of the other "sippy cup" designs are nothing more than colorful bottle replacements that the child must actively suck on to get a drink. Doesn't really teach them much. Can your little person still experience, yes and cause, some dribble spills while learning new skills by using this cup? Yes, initially, but just like a real drinking glass with a touch of experience, they quickly get it right. As long as they don't accidentally press the lid plunger, spills are genuinely minimal. So, if you stick to water and coach them a little, how bad can it be? As far as taking it apart and putting it back together, pretty basic stuff. Even if you don't pay attention to detail, with some adult experimentation and patience, even someone from Harvard should be able to puzzle it out. Enjoy the cup!

My daughter's drink runs down her mouth and neck. The concept is great just didn't work for me. Avent should redesign this cup to work better.

Thought this was going to be spill proof as stated but leaks all over the place. May as well gave him an actual cup to drink out of. Loved using Avent bottles but this sippy cup is of no comparable value to their bottles.
