Grooming Tips from Actor & Facial Hair Enthusiast, Adam Scott

As a facial hair enthusiast, I know how important it is to make sure you look your best for life’s moments, big or small. A huge part of that for me is my grooming routine, so I’ve teamed up with my friends at Philips Norelco to share tips for finding your grooming look.

• Feel Comfortable in Your Looks: Part of why I became an actor in the first place is because growing up, I didn’t al-ways feel particularly confident. But playing someone who felt confident? I could do that. To that end, figuring out a character’s look and confidence often begins with his facial hair: is it…ridiculous? Completely normal? Kind of cool? Figuring out what makes a character feel confident will tell you a lot about him.
• Choose Your Champion: You need the right tools to bring your facial hair vision to life. I’ve trusted Philips Norelco, which has a tool for whatever look you’re going for – beard, mustache, mutton chops, everything. I’m currently go-ing for a close, clean-shaven look so I’ll be using Philips Norelco Shaver S9000 Prestige.
• Unleash Your Imagination: I’ve always kept an open mind when it comes to the roles I play, and I apply the same mindset to grooming and style. Over the years, I’ve experimented with many looks and I would encourage all of you to do the same.
• Embrace Growth: I’m grateful for the roles I’ve played where I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone. Those are the ones that have made me better at what I do. This approach also prepared me for fatherhood. I love to tell my kids that I’ve continued to grow up as they have and that the best version of myself is the one I am now, in large part thanks to them. That is usually when they look up from their phones, roll their eyes, and ask if they can leave. It’s wonderful.
