The Philips Airfryer makes it possible to enjoy food that’s crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside with up to 90% less fat.

How does it work?

The unique Rapid Air technology from Philips allows you to prepare food using only air. Thanks to its unique combination of fast and precise circulating hot air, an optimal temperature balance and a grill element it allows you to fry, roast, bake or grill all kinds of delicious food. Because you are only using air for frying, it is much safer and it saves you and your home from the smell of fried oil compared to a regular fryer. Thanks to the dishwasher-safe parts the Airfryer is also easy to clean!

Why is the Airfryer better than a conventional deep-fat fryer?
Why is the Airfryer better than a conventional deep-fat fryer?

Unlike a conventional deep-fat fryer, you only need a tablespoon or less of to prepare tasty food in the Airfryer. The Airfryer fries the food with circulating hot air by a process referred to as Rapid Air technology. Thanks to this technology, fries cooked in the Philips Airfryer contain up to 75% less fat than fries prepared in a deep-fat fryer. As no frying oil is needed, preparing food in the Airfryer produces less smell than frying in a conventional deep-fat fryer.
How much food can I prepare in the Airfryer?
How much food can I prepare in the Airfryer?
The basket of the Airfryer can be filled up to the ‘max’ indication in the basket. The max amount of ingredients that can be prepared depends on the kind of food you want to prepare.

If you prepare potatoes or fries, the basket can hold up to 800g/28.2 oz of home- made French fries or 700g/24.7 oz of frozen fries, enough for a family of four. If large amounts of food are placed in the basket, the end result may not be even. The optimal amount of French fries that can be prepared in one go is 500g/17.6 oz for both homemade and frozen fries. When preparing large amounts of fries, make sure you shake the basket at least once during the air frying process. For larger amounts it is even recommended to shake 2-3 times to help improving your results.

You can air fry up to 500g/17.6 oz of small snacks at the same time. Make sure you shake halfway through the process.

When you want to air fry large snacks, meat or poultry, distribute one layer of snacks over the bottom of the basket. Make sure the bottom of the basket is not completely covered so that hot air can still circulate around the ingredients.

When you prepare stuffed vegetables, filled dough snacks or other fragile food, put one layer on the bottom of the basket. Make sure you leave enough room between the ingredients so that you can lift them out with a pair of tongs.

If you want to bake cakes, quiches, muffins or breads, use an oven tray with a diameter of 16 cm. Do not fill oven trays or baking pans more than halfway, as the dough will rise during air frying. If you put too much dough in the tray or baking pan, the rising dough may touch the heating element and the top may get burned.

You can prepare two types of froze fries in the Airfryer:

Frozen oven-ready fries

Frozen fries suitable for deep-fat frying.

Tip: Other frozen potato varieties other than fries are also worth trying.

Note: Keep in mind that frozen fries differ from each other. Different brands and varieties need their own settings.
Which oil is best to use?
Which oil is best to use?

Most cooking oils can be used to add taste and crispiness to ingredients prepared in the Airfryer.

We advise you to stick to traditional cooking oils such as:

Olive oil

Sunflower oil

Peanut oil

You can also use spiced or flavored oil or soak spices in the oil before you use it. This is an easy way to vary the flavors in your dishes. You can also use butter sprays.

Note: Adding oil is only necessary when you prepare homemade dishes from fresh ingredients that have not been pretreated, such as freshly peeled potatoes or unmarinated chicken. Adding oil creates a crispy layer on the untreated food and improves its taste
