I had to get two replacements for my two lights. Now the replacements are going bad again. They keep saying OFF like the volume was being turned down to min and that does not allow you to turn on the light or use any functions on the lamp. Tried to unplug and plug back in but keeps doing it. I will resend this again and want to get the new models.

A roommate had a wake-up light and just raved about it, so I got one too. It has made a huge difference for me waking up -- in the winter, the "sunrise" part of the lamp makes me feel like it is actually time to get up (rather than time to hibernate for 6 more months), and in the summer the slowly getting louder alarm helps wake me up gently.
I did have a problem with my device -- the volume stopped working on the audio alarm -- I would set it and then in the morning it would go off, but I couldn't hear it because the volume would mysteriously set itself to "zero." I contacted Phillips and their extremely professional and helpful customer service representatives helped resolve the situation to my satisfaction.
I highly recommend this product for its variety of features (you can wake up to lamp, a variety of built-in gentle noises, the radio, or something pre-set on your iPod or iPhone), ease of use, and modern and minimalist design. I also recommend this product because of my positive experience with Phillips.

i loved waking up to the natural light. i was starting to really feel more energetic in the morning. then the light bulb went out. i called and the unit was replaced by mail. and it happened again! the light bulb stopped working again. so i don't love it anymore.

Numberous glitches caused this unit to stop functioning within weeks. Initially, pulling the plug enabled me to reset the software and get it going but the problems grew until the sound would reduce to zero upon startup no matter what I did. Customer service was poor. When I tried to return unit for a replacement too much paperwork was required - I had bought it on the internet.

I received this as a replacement for a previous wake-up light. It lasted for just over a year. Again, the light and sounds are wonderful ways to wake-up. However, recently the volume switch has become stuck on OFF, which prevents the time from displaying and the other controls from being used. I really wish this worked. The clock allowed me to get up earlier and happier and accomplish more than I thought possible. If it's possible to be fond of an electrical device, I was fond of this clock, but there is something fundamentally wrong with the design. I hope they fix it, but I won't buy another one.

You cannot replace the bulb. You have to replace the whole head. Ours stopped working inexplicably. The replacement service was great, but the reviews I read about this product suggest that it frequently stops working fr no reason. Now, we are out of warranty, so when it stops working the next time, we will have to throw the whole thng away. What a waste!

Light works to help you wake up, especially in a sunlight-deprived apartment like mine. What they don't tell you is that the light does turn off automatically after a while if you don't turn it off after the alarm goes off. And be prepared for the light to malfunction within anywhere from 1 month of use to 11 months of use. (After I finish writing this review, I will have to call customer service because my light is malfunctioning again after just 1 month of use. It is already my third replacement.) The buttons will switch functions, you might not be able to turn on or off the light, and you won't be able to change the time. The positive side to that is that Philips is quick to send you a replacement, but it is a huge hassle. Hopefully the newer models have been fixed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Joel50 The Philips Wake-up Light has helped me get up feeling refreshed, especially in the darker morning months.
Before I had this product I had a hard time waking up and feeling refreshed, especially in the months when it is dark at wake-up time. The Wake-up light has really helped me with this. I've also appreciated it as a dock for my iPod, and frequently use that feature when I am studying or relaxing in my bedroom.
