Why is the picture of a Philips TV is stretched out and/or the image is short and fat and/or there are black bars on the side or on top and bottom of the picture?

    Published on 2016-12-29
    • Press the 'FORMAT' button on the remote control repeatedly to select the screen format that will optimise the picture display on screen.
    • This will be the format that the TV will display its picture until you select another format.

Note: It is not able to change the screen format in CVI and HDMI mode. The only mode available is widescreen.

If the problem is not resolved,

    • Check if the TV is connected to a cable box then you need to set the picture format in the cable box.
    • For detail information, please refer to the cable box user manual or contact the cable company for further assistance.
